The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
Performances: Dec. 17 - 18, 2026 at 7 p.m. | Dec. 19, 2026 at 2 p.m. at the Appalachian Theatre
Show Synopsis: In this hilarious Christmas classic, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids – probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won't believe the mayhem – and the fun – when the Herdmans collide head-on with the story of Christmas!
This delightful show is adapted from the bestselling Young Adult book, and has become a holiday staple for groups across the United States. The crowd-pleasing comedy features plenty of great roles for children and adults, a few favourite Christmas Carols, and lots of laughs.

Auditions
Who: Casting adults and children for 6 women, 4 men, 9 girls, 8 boys
When: Saturday, Sept. 26 at 2 p.m.
Where: 288 Hodges Gap Rd. in Boone (the white barn with red roof)
What if I can’t make the audition time? If you are unable to attend the audition in person, you may submit a video to beanstalkcommunitytheatre@gmail.com. Video auditions must be received by 5 p.m. on Sept. 25. All audition material can be accessed by clicking the buttons on the left of this page (on desktops) or at the top of this page (on mobile).

Callbacks - If callbacks are needed, they will most likely be held on an evening in the week following the auditions.
Rehearsals - Rehearsals begin in early October and run through performance dates on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 6-8 pm. No unexcused absences allowed after Dec. 1.
